Alicia Baker, Founder and Principal

Alicia holds an undergraduate degree and masters in Law from the London School of Economics and a PGCE from Nottingham University. After many years in investment banking, decided to reroute her career towards education. British national who has lived in Spain for many years. She knows the benefits of being fully bilingual since her early childhood and the advantages of an international education, which she will reflect in the ethos of Little Acorns.


Laura Rennard, Head Teacher and Lead Teacher Willow Class 

Laura brings a wealth of experience in the Early Years and Primary Curriculum after working for many years in the UK. Originally from Middlesbrough, she graduated with an BA Hons in English Language from the University of Teesside before gaining her QTS through the prestigious GTP in the north of England.  Her education career has spanned over 15 years and has included working with children in both England and Spain. Her particular focus is on reading and phonics, and has great experience with special education needs.   

Roxana Delgado, School Administrator

She will be your first port of call for any day to day issues that may arise.  Roxana, originally from Salvador, has been living in different countries for the past two decades and is fluent in Spanish, English, French and German. She has previously worked in diverse settings such as Astex, Villa Magna Hotel and the New Zealand Embassy, making sure all commercial and administration issues were in perfect order! 


Miriam Garcia Pujals, Lead Teacher, Laurel Class

Miriam is a Law graduate from Universidad Complutense Madrid with 15 years experience in child protection. She is also an experienced and fully qualified teacher from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She has her Cambridge Proficiency and is fluent in English as she has had a British education from a young age. She is a fervent supporter of the British curriculum and has obtained her Habilitación Linguística whilst working at Little Acorns.

Andrew Hawcroft, Class Teacher, Laurel Class

Andrew, originally from Leicestershire, has a degree in Scriptwriting from the University of Bournemouth and a TEFL teaching certificate. He is a writer, actor and qualified sports instructor. He will also be Little Acorns Physical Education Teacher.



James Hudson, Lead Teacher, Chestnut Class 

James, originally from Brighton, has completed his Level 3 Cache Diploma in Early Years whilst at Little Acorns.  He has previously worked as a teacher in a school in Valencia, and has particular expertise in technology and robotics. He is Little Acorns IT teacher and runs our Robotics extracurricular club.

Sarah Jones, Class Teacher, Chestnut Class

Sarah is a TEFL qualified teacher.  She has worked in a number of settings including a few months in a school in Africa and three years with children with learning difficulties in the UK.  She  also runs our English for Fun club after school.


Rebeca de Rada, Lead Teacher, Magnolia Class

Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, Rebeca has a wealth of experience working across Sales, Customer Service and Retail in London.  Since gaining her BSC (Hons) from the University of Kent in 2010, she has gone on to pass her Master TEFL/TESOL course with Young Learners, Business English and CLIL and has recently completed her Early Childhood International Diploma (Level 4) through the Montessori Centre International.

Lauren Sanchez Watson, Class Teacher, Magnolia Class

Lauren worked at Little Acorns in 2014 and has decided to return after a year in Australia. Lauren will bring her creative talents to bear on Little Acorns as she is a very brilliant artist as well as an experienced early years teacher.


Ana Nicolau, Lead Teacher, Elm Class

Ana is a graduate from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas with specialisation in Interpreting and a Masters' Degree in Medical Translation.  She is fluent in English, Spanish and French. She has had a British education and has previous experience as an English teacher in two schools in Madrid. We are delighted that Ana achieved her NVQ Level 3 Diploma whilst working with us at Little Acorns.

Julia Rufo, Class Teacher, Elm Class

Jules is Canadian and a graduate of Journalism from the University of Ryerson in Toronto and a Diploma in Hispanic Studies from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.  She also holds a TEFL certificate.  She has been working as an English teacher and translator in Spain for the past ten years. 


Nicola Chadderton, Lead Teacher, Cherry Class

We are very pleased to welcome back Nicola Chadderton who worked at Little Acorns for two years and has fortunately for us decided to come back! She is a fully qualified Early Years teacher and brings a wealth of experience from working in early years settings in the UK.  She has a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Gloucestershire and qualified as an Early Years Teacher at the University of Worcester.  

Julia Rubia, Class Teacher Cherry Class

Julia is from Salamanca where she qualified as a teacher specialising in Early Years. She then went to London for over 5 years where she obtained her Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and worked in a Nursery in London.  She has become a total advocate of the British Early Years Curriculum.  She is also the Head of Spanish at Little Acorns.


Amy Cooper, Lead Teacher, Oak Class

Amy Cooper is the Lead Teacher at Oak Class as well as Little Acorns’ Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENDCO).  She is a fully qualified speech therapist specialising in multilingual settings and has had experience in different teaching positions in schools in the UK and Spain. She has a degree in English from Lancaster University,  a Masters in Language Pathology from Newcastle University and a Celta teaching qualification.  

Anabel Sivit, Class Teacher Oak Class

Anabel holds a Diploma in early years education and previously ran a small local nursery.  She has worked in Little Acorns for the past 3 years in diverse roles.  All the children LOVE her! .


Mary Luz Cabrera, Our Dinner Lady and Housekeeper

What would we do without her? She basically runs the school and ensures everything is clean and in order.  She now ensures all children at least try everything at lunch, she will not let them leave the table until they do!  She is now assisted by Rosario a few hours a day.

Raul Montes, Transport, Security & Maintenance

To complete our team we are delighted to introduce Raul, undoubtably the most popular member of our staff amongst the children!   Raul covers everything from security, caretaker, maintenance, sports trainer to minibus driver and yet still finds the time to offer a smile and a spare pair of hands to any child looking for reassurance.
